In 2010, Nude Food Day raised $10,000 for Nutrition Australia’s Healthy Schools Program by encouraging over 250,000 Australians to bring healthy, rubbish free lunches to school for one day – that’s a lot of healthy people and a lot of landfill spared!

Rubbish free meals, mean not only reducing waste but reducing the consumption of processed & packaged foods. Which to put it bluntly, are often filled with rubbish!
Food has become complicated and confusing and it needn’t be like that. Big business has done a great job at seducing people into buying prepared, processed foods that promise convenience. With a little planning and some creativity, you can make much better choices for you and your family.
Good food is fundamental to good health, happiness and good behavior! The best place to start is by just having real food, preferably organic, that is as unrefined as possible in the home. Our bodies know what to do with these foods, they are digested easily and we need the essential nutrients and goodness from these foods for our growth and wellbeing!
2011 National Nude Food Day is on next Wednesday 19 October. And this year, as well as hundreds of schools around Australia, workplaces and individuals can get involved!
The aim of the day is to encourage Australian’s to make healthy, nutritious and environmentally friendly lunches by filling it with fresh food and eliminating all unnecessary wrapping!

Nude Food Day is part of National Nutrition Week, Nutrition Australia’s annual health awareness campaign running 16 – 22 October. This year’s theme is ‘Healthy Food; Healthy Planet – Helping Families to a Healthy Future’
If you haven’t signed up already, visit the Nude Food Day website to register and let’s support this fantastic initiative to see healthier and waste free lunches in Australia! You could also WIN a prize pack including an Honest to Goodness hamper, yum!
