Brown rice is kernels of rice from which only the hull has been removed. Its light brown colour is due to the presence of bran layers which are rich in minerals and vitamins, especially the B-complex group. For best results, rinse & soak well prior to cooking. Approximately 1 cup uncooked rice will make 2.5 cups of cooked rice.
To cook - place 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of liquid, cover with lid, bring to the boil then simmer for 30-40mins.
