Basmati rice is an aromatic long grain rice that has a distinctive aroma and flavour similar to that of popcorn or roasted nuts. When cooked, it swells only lengthwise, resulting in long slender grains that are dry, separate and fluffy.
To cook - place 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of liquid, cover with lid, bring to the boil then simmer for 30-40mins.
