Baobab is an exotic fruit, native to South Africa where it has been used for centuries by indigenous people because of its extraordinary high levels of essential nutrients. The Baobab fruit dries naturally on the tree and the pulp is simply crushed and sieved to produce Baobab powder, maintaining all of its natural raw flavour and goodness.

Bursting with antioxidants, high in fibre and a rich source of vitamin C - more than goji berries and blueberries! Baobab powder has an exotic, light tangy flavour and makes a nutritious addition to smoothies, porridge or create healthy snacks by adding it to baking.

Non-GMO. NO added fillers, anti-caking agents, colours, flavours or preservatives.

HOW TO USE

Baobab powder is very versatile and super nutritious! Try adding a tablespoon to your favourite smoothie, coconut water, juice or yoghurt; Sprinkle it over your favourite muesli or morning porridge, blend it with yoghurt or add it to baking to increase the nutritional value of baked treats.

GROWING & PROCESSING

The Baobab tree is native to Africa and thrives in  hot, dry, low-lying areas. Known as 'the upside down tree' because when the tree is bare of its leaves, the spreading branches of the Baobab resemble roots sticking up into the air, as if it had been planted upside-down!

The baobab fruit have an oval shape and are formed from white flowers,  pollinated by bats. The fruit has a hard, woody shell with a velvety yellow-green coating. Inside the shell are the large oil-rich seeds, the fruit powder and fibres. The baobab fruit dries naturally on the tree and the pulp is simply crushed and sieved to produce baobab powder, maintaining all of its natural raw flavour and goodness.
