Rye grain can be substituted for wheat grain. Organic rye grain is suitable for home milling, sprouting, pilafs and salads. You could also try rolling it so it can be used as porridge.

Organically grown, rye grain is processed in a similar way to wheat grain. This involves cutting the heads from the top of the spelt plants and then thresh them to remove the grains from the rest of the head, called chaff i.e. when the hulling occurs. The grains are divided from additional plant fragments and cleaned. It is grown without the use of insecticides or pesticides and harvested and packed without the use of preservatives and additives.
