According to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisaiton, Jute is one of the longest used natural textile fibres. It is a rain-fed crop which is said to enrich the soil fertility as it is grown. Our Jute is grown in India, and the bags are sewn together in a studio which is registered for Fairtrade, and has Sedex certification. This means employees get fair wages and have good working conditions, and even have access to free medical care.
