Made from 100% stoneground young, fresh green tea leaves, our premium organic matcha powder is sourced from Kagoshima, Japan where is it grown at the foot of the Kirishima mountain ranges. The enriched soils which surround the mountain produce high-quality and delicious green tea leaves.

Not all matcha powder is created equal. The quality of a matcha powder can be determined by its colour. Japanese matcha tends to have a brighter, more vibrant green colour due to the high chlorophyll content of the leaves. This is attributed to growing and harvesting methods, perfected throughout the cultivation of matcha powder. The plants are shaded before harvest to preserve the flavour and nutrients within the leaves.

Japanese matcha produces a higher quality powder that is more expensive than other matcha producing countries. This can be attributed to:

  • Farming process
  • Climate
  • Soil quality
  • Manufacturing process

No GMO. No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. No added sugar.

HOW TO USE

The unique flavour of and nutrients found in matcha have currently made it one of the most desired beverages on the planet, and a high-in-demand ingredient in baking, desserts, lattes and chocolates.

Matcha pairs fantastic with white chocolate. Otherwise, if you are looking for a more traditional flavour pairing, try making a dessert with Matcha powder and sweetened red beans (also known as adzuki beans).

Enjoy this Organic Matcha Powder in smoothies or lattes or incorporate it into baked goods and other desserts such as ice cream.

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator, or away from direct sunlight.

Lattes and Smoothies

To ensure that your matcha powder incorporates smoothly, add 1 tablespoon of hot water to your desired amount of matcha powder and whisk to form a paste. Then add to your dish, or top with your liquid of choice.

Baked Goods

To minimise clumping, sift your matcha powder alongside your dry goods or when the recipe calls to add matcha powder.

GROWING & PROCESSING

Grown in Kagoshima, Japan. These premium organic green tea leaves are destemmed, naturally dried and stone ground into powder. This creates a fine, jade-green powder.
