Absolutely no complaints about this grainy mix, it's fabulous. Have made half a dozen loaves now and they've all turned out brilliantly. I use the same recipe as Val (which is Patrick Ryan's recipe?), but increase the water or sourdough starter by about 30mL to increase the hydration rate slightly. Yum!
Everyone loves the bread!
Made sourdough bread with this flour and it was SO delicious, I'll be buying more. Very simple recipe:
320g sourdough starter.
Makes 2 loaves - that don't last very long!
Recipe for 7 grain bread mix using bread making machine
Add ingredients in the order required by the directions for your machine
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 cups multi grain bread mix
1 tablespoon vegetable oil or butter (I used rice bran oil)
1 egg (mine was straight from fridge)
3/4 cup warm water or milk (I used water)
3 tablespoons honey (mine was old & crystalized that worked fine)
then start machine!
I made a medium loaf & it was great!
THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT IS THAT ONE OF THE GRAINS WAS TOO HARD FOR MY SENTITIVE TEETH!! BUT OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS LOVED IT!!
I cant truthfully rate the quality price & value as I have no knowledge/experience of what is good & what isn't, but this flour is great.
