B Corp 2024: Improving the Way We Do Business

March 7, 2024 Honest to Goodness

As we reflect on our B Corp accomplishments over the last few years, we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved. However, we recognise that our focus should not solely be on gaining more points on paper. Our true responsibility as a Certified B Corp, is to consistently make conscious business decisions, regardless of their size or scope. We believe that every choice we make can have a positive impact and contribute to a more sustainable and equitable world.

OUR ACTION

B Corporation

In the last two years, we’ve continued our mission to improve the way we do business and who we do business with. We continue to support organic and sustainable growers who align with our values, and we love being able to introduce our customers to new organic growers who undertake organic and non-GMO sustainable growing practices.

We’ve revisited our environmental performance and worked smarter to reduce our carbon footprint. As a result, we’ve reduced our outbound packaging and are in the process of launching a range packed in 100% recycled cardboard canisters. In 2024 we are continuing to review our entire range to see where we can implement even better recyclable options, including compostable packaging.

Reducing our carbon footprint is always front of mind when we make business decisions, which is why we’ve invested heavily into route optimisation software for our distribution network. On a community level, we continue to invest time into community buying groups and have invested in additional bulk buying bins in our store at Alexandria, Sydney.

BREW ON PURPOSE

Organic Neighbours Blend Coffee

Two years ago, we also launched the Organic Neighbours Blend Coffee, with 100% of the profits generated from the sale of this coffee going to Project Timor. Since launching, $22,000 has been donated to Project Timor which provides the opportunity of a quality education and essential nourishment to young women in the community of Maliana, Timor Leste to help them build a sustainable and better future.
