What Are Hemp Seeds and How Do I Use Them?

August 29, 2018 Honest to Goodness

Hemp is a versatile commodity that has been utilised worldwide for years across food, textiles, cosmetics and building materials. Up until 2017 hemp was only grown and sold within Australia under cosmetic terms, however new food regulations in November 2017 finally allowed Australians to legally consume and enjoy this highly nutritious superfood in their diets.

Since hemp became a legal food source, Australian farmers now have a fresh opportunity to grow and harvest hemp locally, meaning we no longer have to look to an imported supply of hemp. Honest to Goodness proudly supports this new and emerging local crop by partnering with Aussie farmers to produce high quality Australian Hulled Hemp Seeds.

Hemp Seeds are the seed of the hemp plant, Cannabis Sativa. Whilst hemp is of the same species as cannabis (marijuana), it only contains trace amounts of THC (less than 0.3%), therefore cannot cause hallucinogenic effects from consumption. The hemp plant contains no buds and is less leafy than the marijuana plant.
