Rinse 1 cup of uncooked rice with cold water.
Place the rice in a rice cooker with 1.5 cups of water.
Turn the rice cooker on and let it cook according to the instructions.
Remove bowl and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Absorption

Place the rice in a saucepan on the stove.
Add 1.5 cups of water and bring to the boil.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat and leave to stand for 5 minutes before serving.
