In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix all dry ingredients together.
Add the lukewarm milk and eggs to the dry ingredients and mix everything at first speed for 3 minutes.
Increase the speed to 2 and continue to mix for another 5 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
Add the softened butter to the dough and continue kneading at first speed. Wait for the butter to be fully incorporated into the dough before moving on to the next step.
Stop the kneading process and let the dough rest for 20 minutes.
After the rest period, add the pearl sugar to the dough and mix at first speed for 1-2 minutes.
Let the dough rest for 1 hour.
Divide the dough into 100g balls and let them rest for an additional 1 hour.
Preheat your waffle iron to 180°C.
Place each dough ball in the centre of your waffle iron and cook for 3 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove the waffles from the iron and let them cool on a wire rack for 30 minutesbefore serving.
Once your waffles have cooled down, it's time to get creative with toppings! You can add a dollop of whipped cream, a scoop of your favourite ice cream, or drizzle some honey or maple syrup on top.
