Want to jazz up your protein balls this Christmas? Why not try these beautiful Chocolate Coated Protein Balls with a twist!? Enjoy these delicious treats packed with protein, EFA’s, magnesium and calcium. Store in the fridge for a quick snack or as a sweet treat in the evenings
Then place them in a food processor and blitz well until breadcrumbs form
Remove the pips from the dates (if required), add to the food processor and blitz again
Place mixture into a bowl, add the coconut oil, spices, cacao, half the zest and mix well forming into a large ball, add a bit of water if you need to get the mixture to stick together
Roll into small balls, you may need to wet your hands here. Make sure you squeeze the balls quite firmly and place in the fridge while you melt the chocolate for topping
Melt the chocolate and oil on a very low heat
Carefully roll the balls into the chocolate using a fork
Sprinkle with some remaining orange zest
Add a piece of baking paper to a tray and carefully transfer them into the fridge and let them set for a few hours
