Organic Peppercorns Black 1KG

Honest to Goodness Honest to Goodness
$52.95
Organic Peppercorns - Black is one of the world's most used spices and is often referred to as the "king of spice." These whole peppercorns are actually berries obtained from the pepper plant. The berries are picked when they are half ripe and just about to turn red, then left to dry which causes them to shrivel and become dark in colour.

Black peppercorns have the strongest pepper taste of all peppercorns, and when freshly ground they add both heat and a depth of flavour to any savoury dish.

HOW TO USE

Black pepper is a versatile spice that can be used in all types of savoury cooking including seasonings, curries, gravies and sauces. To retain the flavour and aroma, ground the pepper corns just before preparing dishes or add just prior to serving. Freshly ground black pepper adds a delicious aromatic bite to any dish!

Black peppercorns can be stored for many years at room temperature and can be milled using a hand grinder as required.

GROWING & PROCESSING

Native to India, the black pepper plant is a flowering vine cultivated for its fruit. Black peppercorns are left on the vine to fully mature and develop a strong flavour profile. They are then sun-dried which causes them to shrivel and become dark in colour.
